RCD Board/Staff Partnerships

What is the board responsible for? Technically, everything. In practice, boards generally give much of the responsibility for the organization to the professional staff. How can boards and staff work together effectively to fill all the needs of the organization and give everyone clarity about their roles?

Learning objectives for this Track 1 session:

• Review best practices for board/staff roles and responsibilities.
• Explore ideas for improving communication between board and staff. 
• Workshop specific needs of session participants.

Information about Wednesday's Free Day of Training for RCDs

Wednesday is CARCD's free day of training for RCD staff and directors. There are two tracks to choose from and we request that you commit to the one that best suits your interests.

Track 1 sessions are focused on skills development for RCD directors. RCD staff are also welcome to participate.

District Managers are encouraged to attend Track 2 sessions. Afternoon sessions for the second track will be offsite at the State Capitol in downtown Sacramento.

There are two ways to sign up for the free training sessions:

1. Sign up when you register for the conference, or
2. If you have already registered for the conference, fill out this separate Wednesday Special Events form
